Account information: When you sign up, we collect your name and email address.

Task and location data: We store the locations you tag, the tasks you attach to them, and your group/household membership. This is the core data that makes the app work.

Location data: The app uses your device's location to detect when you are near a tagged location and trigger a notification. We do not continuously track or store your real-time GPS position. Location is processed on your device — we only store the coordinates of locations you manually tag.

Usage data: We may collect basic anonymous usage data (such as app crashes) to improve performance.

• To provide the core app features — geo-triggered notifications, task management, and household sharing
• To sync your data across devices and with your household group
• To send push notifications when you or a group member is near a tagged location
• To improve the app based on usage patterns
• To respond to your support requests

We do not sell your personal data. Ever.

We share data only in these limited circumstances:

• Your household group: Task and location data is visible to members of your shared group — that is the core feature of the app.
• Supabase: Our database provider stores your account and app data securely. Supabase is SOC 2 compliant. See their privacy policy at supabase.com/privacy.
• Google Places: When you search for a location, your search query is sent to the Google Places API. See Google's privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy.
• Apple: Push notifications are delivered via Apple's APNs service.

Squirrel Around uses location services to power its core geo-fencing feature. Specifically:

• We request "Always On" location permission so the app can detect when you enter a tagged location even when the app is closed.
• Your real-time GPS position is processed on your device. We do not store a continuous history of your movements.
• Only the coordinates of locations you manually create are stored in our database.
• You can disable location access at any time in your device settings. This will prevent geo-triggered notifications from working.

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal data and all associated tasks, locations, and group data will be permanently deleted within 30 days.

Squirrel Around is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data
• Export your data
• Withdraw consent for location access at any time via device settings

We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS), Row Level Security on our database (ensuring users can only access their own data and their group's data), and secure authentication. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, but we take every reasonable precaution.

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via the app or email. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
